I know Hinchcliffe is a relative titan in the industry, but doesn’t this seem a little too commercial? I don’t know, maybe I am feeling like R.E.M. fans when alternative became mainstream, but I am not sure you can teach a mindset. Gary Hamel said the following about teaching firms to innovate.

“For almost 20 years I have tried to help large companies innovate. And despite a lot of successes along the way, I’ve often felt as if I were trying to teach a dog to walk on its hind legs. Sure, if you get the right people in the room, create the right incentives, and eliminate the distractions, you can spur  a lot of innovation. But the moment you turn your back, the dog is on all fours again, because it has quadruped DNA, not biped DNA. ”

Does this apply here?

It is in the DC area…maybe I can convince someone to fund my post graduate studies there. It would be interesting to see what Enterprise 2.0 in a day looks like.
